Ashley Sanchez is the Crime Prevention Specialist for the Oceanside Police Department's Neighborhood Policing Team. She has dedicated six and a half years to the department and has been actively involved in various initiatives and programs during her tenure. Notably, Ashley was among the first participants in the Oceanside Youth Partnership, a mentorship program aimed at assisting at-risk youth. This program, now in its 9th cohort, has positively impacted over 100 young individuals.

Ashley holds a unique role as the department's sole Child Safety Seat Technician, providing this crucial service to the entire city. She also takes the lead in coordinating the city's Neighborhood Watch programs, organizing station tours, and delivering safety presentations. One of her areas of specialization is Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, where she offers her expertise to help plan a safer city.

In addition to her crime prevention responsibilities, Ashley takes on other important roles within the department. She serves as a leader of the Peer Support Team, offering guidance and support to her colleagues. Furthermore, she acts as an LGBTQ+ Liaison, fostering inclusivity and understanding within the department. On occasion, she also manages the department's social media, helping to keep the community informed and engaged.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from California State University San Marcos and a Master's in Science in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership at The University of San Diego.

Outside of her professional life, Ashley is happily married to a San Diego Police Officer and is the proud parent of two young children. She balances her demanding career with the responsibilities of family life, demonstrating a remarkable dedication to both her job and her loved ones.
