Nathan Brown

Nathan Brown is the Deputy Chief of Police at the University of Kentucky Police Department (UKPD) where he has served as a law enforcement officer since 2005. In this role, he currently provides leadership and oversight of all the divisions of the department. This includes Police Operations, UKPD HealthCare Security, Administration and Finance, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management and Preparedness, and the Central Kentucky Information Sharing and Threat Assessment Center (CITAC)). For the last 10 years, he has worked as the UKPD executive leader for all department capital projects including the integration and installation of the UK Central Security System, the development of the UKPD Technology Division, the renovation of the UK Police Communications Center, and performed physical security assessments throughout UK HealthCare facilities to expand security technology across its enterprise.

Nathan holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Kentucky Martin School of Public Policy and Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (243). He is an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Associates (FBINAA).
