Elizabeth Jernigan, AICP, CPRP, is a Senior Planner with Greensboro Parks and Recreation. She has 15+ years of experience in long-range and strategic planning efforts related to recreation, transportation, environmental, and food systems. She has a B.A. in Anthropology and English from Appalachian State University, and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Elizabeth is AICP certified through the American Planning Association, recently received her Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) designation through the National Recreation and Parks Association, and maintains her Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) certification through the National Institute of Crime Prevention. She is active in the North Carolina Chapter of the American Planning Association and a mountain bike coach for her local NICA mountain biking team. When she’s not busy planning trails and greenways, she can be found on a bike, hiking, swimming, camping, or building forts in the backyard with her husband, two girls, and fur baby, Gus.
