Robert grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Sacramento in 2008. He is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a degree in Criminal Justice. While at Sacramento State he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity where he served as the chapter's Vice President of Communications and Treasurer. He has been in the security industry for over 12 years working both for public and private entities. He began his security career in 2009 working as a Community Service Officer for the Sacramento State Police Department. After 6 months he became a Lead Community Service Officer. He continued working here until his college graduation in 2013. In 2013 he joined Bayer Protective Services as a security officer. In 2014, after First Security Services purchased Bayer Protective Services, he promoted to a new role as patrol driver until 2015, when he was named the Patrol Manager of First Security Services, Sacramento Branch. He remained in this role until 2016 when he accepted a position to work with SmartGuard Inc. acting as the Assistant Operations Manager. In 2018 he was named Operations Manager of SmartGuard Inc. In 2019 he accepted a position as a Senior Safety and Security Analyst with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. He joined the Sacramento Chapter of ASIS International in 2016, and served as the Chapter Chair of the Sacramento, California Chapter for 3 years. He attained the coveted ASIS Triple Crown by achieving the CPP, PSP, and PCI certifications. He also holds the CPD designation from the National Institute of Crime Prevention (NICP).
