The National Institute of Crime Prevention (NICP) is proud to celebrate 25 years of providing top-notch training in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). Since 1999, we’ve been dedicated to equipping professionals like you with the skills and knowledge needed to create safer environments.

Why Earn the NICP’s CPD? Earning the CPTED Professional Designation (CPD) offers numerous benefits. It allows you to develop advanced skill sets in CPTED and gain professional recognition from your peers and other professionals. The CPD demonstrates your knowledge and competence, adding notable credentials to your resume.

To Earn:

  • Complete 60 hours of instruction offered through the NICP within 2 consecutive years. This includes 40 hours of training in Basic CPTED and 24 hours of training in Advanced CPTED.

To Maintain:

  • Complete a sixteen-hour CPTED Specialized Topics course offered by NICP. Upon completion, your designation will be renewed for a period of 4 years from the date of the course.
