Stephen Hearne, CPP is a Sr. Physical Security Consultant at First Citizens Bank and Trust in Columbia, SC.   His current responsibilities include: To protect the employees, customers and assets of First Citizens Bancshares through the administration of all aspects of physical security for financial centers, operations centers, office buildings and other large or densely staffed corporate facilities. Mentor other PSCs concerning physical security risks, recommend standard and nonstandard countermeasures based on experience, sound industry standards, risk and cost versus reward, and direct the implementation thereof. To be a technical consultant and subject matter expert regarding security methodologies, technology, policies, procedures and industry standards.
Stephen is a 1998 graduate of Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  In 1999, he joined Truliant Federal Credit Union in their Greenville, SC branch as a teller and was quickly promoted to the branch manager role.  In 2001, Stephen accepted a position with First Citizens Bank as Retail Team Leader for the Middleburg branch.  He has been with First Citizens Bank for 19 years in various capacities including: Retail Team Leader, Regional Operations Consultant, Fraud Investigator, Senior Fraud Investigator, Loss Prevention/Fraud Investigations Manager, and Corporate Security Manager.  Stephen was commissioned through the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division as a SC State Constable from 2004-2014.  He is a member of ASIS International, has held the seat of Chapter Treasurer in the local Columbia chapter, and has obtained his ASIS Certified Protection Professional certification.  He holds the Department of Homeland Security CHS-1 certification, has attended The Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation, and is a current member of the FBI’s Infragard.  He currently serves on the SC Bankers Association's Security Committee.  Stephen received his CPTED Professional designation in 2019.
