Course Instructor
Tad Twidwell
CPD Instructor
Tad brings more than 20 years of experience across law enforcement, public safety, library leadership, and physical security. His ten years in law enforcement provided a strong foundation in risk assessment, incident response, investigations, and interagency coordination, experience that continues to shape his practical approach to safety and the built environment.
Throughout his career, Tad has applied this security-focused perspective to public-facing environments, conducting site and security assessments that examine access, sightlines, lighting, surveillance, and other physical conditions that can influence safety. His experience also includes integrated security systems, access control, intrusion detection, emergency preparedness, incident reporting, and collaboration with facilities teams and vendors during renovations and capital projects.
Tad holds a Master of Library & Information Science and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, along with additional training and certifications in physical security, workplace safety, cybersecurity, and continuity of operations.
